Crappy weather today so I figured I'd hide in the garage and finish strippin the bike down to a good starting point. Made a P.O.S. stand for it so I can scoot it round the garage. Waiting on the tubing to get here and such.
Couple of Pics:

Well, snagged the sawzall and had at it. Cut that friggin backbone outta there. Felt pretty good doing it too as I fought the damn thing nonstop on my other bike. Drug my DOM out and headed for the shop where I cut it up and bent it. Probably start trimming stuff later this evening. maybe fit some stuff up.

No, lots of measurements, two levels and string for centerline. I might actually try one of my lasers for projecting the centerline.

Trimmed the neck clean today, Cut and fit thge backbone and welded it in place. fit the neck to the backbone and set the rake. Tacked the neck in place. Still need to fit a crossbar between the front downtubes and fit a tube from that to the lower neck. Might get to that later this evening. The old neck's kinda out there!

Didnt get much done today. Spent half the day fixing the garage heater. (Us old farts cant stand the cold in the bones, so that's a first priority thing!) Threw the swingarm on and tacked my axle plates on. Good for a 4 inch stretch in the rear. Tommorow A.M. I'm off to VA Beach for a couple days to visit the son, be back sometime Sunday.

You know Henry, you're probably lucky you don't live closer to Richmond........I'd be knocking on your door saying "Henry, can you help me make my bikes look as cool as yours?" :-D
Great work man. My GS750 sat all year untouched because I have too many other projects going on. Hopefully this year I can get started.
