Sweet! Another awesome build to witness. Looks like you're off to a great start.
Oh, and when you get a second, tell us a little about that Vette in the background. The wife and I have owned 3 C4's in our day. An '87, '91, and '93. Oh yeh, there was that '58 I had years ago...

Ken,
I've allways been a sports car nut. Like, since I was 17...and thats been a while!
I've had a 61 MGA, 65 MGB, 69 MGB, 72 914 Porsche, 54 100-4 Austin Healey (which I'd cut my right arm off for right now), 79 924 Porsche, 87 944 Porsche and that blue C-4 is a 92 with 10,000 miles on it. There is another 92 sitting in the other bay of my garage thats just a frame and shell. The blue one has a long story to it, and I'll try and make it short.
My brother, who's been dead now for 8 years, used to own this car. He was 38 and had a massive coranary walking in his front door of his house. Was dead before he hit the ground.
Anyways, the man allways drove junk 500 dollar cars that leaked oil all over the place and never owned a decent car. Never married, just worked hard, smoked ALLOT of dope and ate junk fast food. His idea of getting dressed up was a clean t shirt and jeans without holes in them. Had a pony tail down to his belt. Had money out the ying yang. So I tell him to quit parking his junk on my concrete driveway and getting oil all over it. Park in the street. Buy a stinking new car, ya cheap SOB. So I tell him this for a couple of years.
So, one day I'm sitting in the kitchen lookin out the window and this brand new Vette pulls in my driveway. I'm like, who the heck is that? Drivers door opens and nobody gets out. My daughter was like 5 years old and she runs out the front door and runs to the car. Next thing I know she gets in it. I'm like, Holy Hell! and bolt out the door after her. Here sits my brother behind the wheel. I couldnt believe it! The dude paid cash for it, 38 large..
So, he drives it for a year or so and the weather turns crappy so he parks it, for the winter. We lived in Ohio then and I worked in PA. So, I get a phone call at work one day and its my brother. There's a lot of background noise and I ask him, where are you? He says in ICU in Akron General Hospital. Im like, what! He says he had an accident with the car and wants me to find it and get it towed to his house. Im like, quit worring about your car dude, whats up with you? He keeps on going on about finding his car and wont get off it. So I says, What the deal, why you so worried about the car? He says, I didnt have any insurance on it, it was a warm sunny day and felt like taking it for a spin. Got down to Cuyahoga Valley National Park and was winding it out on the twisties. A Lotus came up behind him and off they went rat racing. He hits a dip in the road and gets air under the car at about 150, if he remembered right. Said he was looking straight ahead and was seeing nothing but road thru the windshield. Last thing he remembered....
So, I call up everyone I know pulling in favors to get his car fixed at cost. The total was 18K to fix. He said nope, not gonna happen. So, it sat in his garage till '98 when he died. My dad was going to auction it off with his property and I went up to Ohio and told the old man, nope, going to my house. Ive had it since then and have scrounged up enough parts to fix it. I figure it will take me a year or so to do that, and do that I will. I'll never part with that car.
So, thats the story Ken. I'll have to tell ya about the experience he had at the car dealerships trying to buy it one of these days. Thats funny too!

Did a little bending and fitting, a little bending and fitting, a little spot welding, a little cutting, a little more spot welding, a little head scratching, a little more cutting and then, a little spotwelding. I think I got it. Front end is OUT there now!
