After looking at the rear fender strut I decide that I did not like it and decided to change it. The new one has its own mounting tabs instead of using the shock mount tabs.

I was looking at that too. I think the wingnut is a temp thing and that's where the shocks go. (but I could be totally off base...)

It took about 50 hours to convert the frame to a Bobber and repair a lot of old frame problems. There were 4 cracks in the frame and it was bent pretty bad in a couple of areas. Everything is repaired and straightened. I beburred and bead blasted the frame and some other parts for powder coating. There is still a lot to do but I am making progress.

You are correct. I just used the wing nut and a bolt to temporarily hold the chainguard in place.

The oil tank is just a piece of 3.5" steel tubing. I still have to finish the welding and add the filler, hose barb mount, and the sight glass.

Ahhh yes, a site glass, a very good idea, especially since you wont need to put oil in it for about 400 miles. This thing's goin to be cool.

I hope that we can pull this conversion off. There are a lot of bike shows this summer so we want to exchange the X-90 for the Bobber this year.
