Going good Ben! Why not weld a couple of pushers on the axle plate and get rid of the slack adjusters? Ive done that on all my builds because it looks a LOT cleaner than having an adjuster hanging on back there. Just some food for thought!

Great minds think alike Henry. I've been thinking of a push type adjuster all day. When I do that I'll be alittle short on the inside spacing. So what I'll do is make up some steel spacers that have a shoulder on them that will fit inside the axle slots. I'll do this because the Kawasaki axle is smaller dia. than the Yamaha set up. I do like the cleaner look idea to.

Hi all. Been a while since I posted last. I've been working on another short VW bus project for a friend, then my daughters car started burning antifreeze. So time was limited. But I have managed to get the rear wheel all mocked up. Made some new spacers to rest inside the axle plates and take up the remaining space the chain adjusters were going to take. Also welded some pusher adjusters to the side of the axle plates.

Found a tank from an old Honda at the junk yard. Funny, a Yamaha tank went on my Honda bobber, now I'm using a Honda tank On my Yamaha bobber. I think it will look pretty good. Can't wait to get my rear wheel painted and a tire mounted up so I can see the proportions with a fender in place.

This will be the relative location for the front wheel also.

Working on building a girder front fork. Here's the front triple clamps cut down, and ready for some modifing.

Yeah, that rear axle pusher is the way to go. Cant see from the pics but make sure you put a jamb nut on it to keep it from backing off, if ya havent allready done that.

Expecting LOTS of PICS of the girder build. Maybe start its own little thread that could be pinned? Whatever, good job so far bud!

Today, I was rumaging through the junk yard for some handle bar mounts, and came across these two fenders. The first one is a front, off a Susuki Intruder. I played with it frontwards and backwards on the rear. Both ways, I wasn't really feelin' it. What you all think?

Then I put it up on the front rim, and got to thinking since this fender had a rear mate back at the junk yard, maybe I'd go with valance fenders front and rear. May have to find a different tank though. Just imagine a girder fork up front, and a nice flowing rear fender tucked in around the hardtail. Any photo shop guys in the audiance?

I also have this for a traditional bobber look.
Let me know some opinions!

Oooookay, a little clearer explanation. Use the blue fender and the unfinished airplane on yer bench isnt going to get finished if your wrenching on your bike..

OK, now I'm with you! I'm doing some repairs on this plane for one of my R/C club members. We got all these pilots that are just flying the pre built ARFs (almost ready to fly), and don't have the building skills to fix after minor crashes. So I pull in a little side work once every blue moon.

Back on this build. Spent the weekend cutting tubing down to size and building the lower triple tree.

Quicky gig to weld up the fork links.

The bottom tree.

Top tree ready for some tig action.

Finnally, pics of the wheels painted and rubber mounted.
